I wanted to make an Irish House to honor my heritage.  I braided the rug in front of the fireplace and brought the stone by the fireplace from Ireland.  My Dad would be proud!
I also made the quilt and the braided rugs upstairs as well.

While attending the annual Sturbridge, Massachusetts miniature show, I had dinner at the historical Public House. I was enthralled with the interior so I took copious pictures and measurements and this became my interpretation of what I experienced. When I decided to re-create the tavern room, I was thrilled to realize that over the years, I had accumulated many artisan pieces (i.e. the dolls, furniture and rugs) in the Colonial/Early American style. It is fully electrified and most of the accessories are made by me. I researched colonial paint colors and had a local paint store mix a sample of a colonial red I found online. I have always been drawn to this era in our history and tried to stay true to the period. I found this project to be a true labor of love.
